NET Subcommittee Meeting (Healthy Beginnings) – August 1, 2006 Attended: Tonya Christensen, Sharon Lee, Denise Redmon, Sarah Sanders, Eileen Long, Kim Houberg, Jessica Kirchhofer, Amalie Duvall and Maureen Coy Here’s what I have that we decided. Let me know if I missed anything. We will have a Healthy Beginnings Class the first and 3rd Thurs of each month and alternate between evening times and luncheon times at the Columbia/Boone County Health Dept. Community Education Room. Light meals will be prepared each time with Denise Redmon helping to facilitate those. Maureen Coy from the Columbia Boone County Health Department will be the other professional staff person present. Dates are: Sept. 7 th, 5-7 p.m. Sept. 21 st 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; October 5 th 5-7 p.m. Oct. 19 th 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; Nov. 2 nd, 5-7 p.m.; Nov. 16 th 11 am.-1pm.; Dec. 7 th 5-7 p.m. and Dec. 21 st 11 am. – 1 pm. Child Care will be offered in the WIC training Room for all these events. Sharon Lee will work at getting volunteer care for the evening classes. Sarah and Kim, from LCFS, will share being the child care professionals for the evening sessions, as well as provide the care for the noon lunch groups. Transportation: Eileen Long, LCFS, will arrange for the transportation needs and she will be the contact person for that. Flyers: Kim and Sarah, LCFS, will produce the flyers and get them out to the NET committee as soon as possible. Fun educational component: Tonya Christensen will provide these for the September mtgs. At next sub committee meeting we will schedule for the other months. Diapers as Incentives: Lana Poole has agreed to offer diapers as incentives for participants. The next meeting of the NET/Healthy Beginning sub group will be August 29th at 9 a.m at the Columbia/Boone County Health Dept’s in Conference Room 2/3.
