Funding & Partners

Our Funding
During the 2010-11 fiscal year, our activities are made possible by a combination of grants, in-kind contributions, and private donations.

Nearly all  the funds for our budget come from four grants from the Missouri Department of Social Services, two from the Children’s Trust Fund, and a contract with the Phelps County Community Partnership to carry out their activities under three additional DSS grants. We very much appreciate the support of the DSS, the CTF and TCP.

Our Partners
We could not accomplish our mission without the assistance of local agencies too numerous to mention. Nonetheless, a few stand out by virtue of the nature of their contributions to our work. They include:

  • Columbia Housing Authority, which provides free space for our Park Avenue Lend & Learn Toy Library,
  • Daniel Boone Regional Library, Golden K Kiwanis, and the Chamber of Commerce Subcommittee on Early Education, which provide us with books for our families.
  • Center for Family Policy & Research, University of Missouri, our long-time partner in grant writing and evaluation.
  • Local businesses and donors who help us each year with their donations to our programs, including most recently the Kelley Family Foundation Trust  ($50,000) and State Farm Insurance ($15,000).
  • Parents as Teachers programs in the Columbia, Boonville, Centralia, and Fayette Public Schools, who provide parent educators for our PAT Plus intensive home visit program.
