Cut crime with early education
Societal benefits accrue from quality preschool.

Effective crime prevention starts before children enter kindergarten. Law enforcement leaders know this from practical experience, and researchers have confirmed it many times in rigorous social science studies. Providing low-income children with access to a high-quality early program before they arrive at kindergarten dramatically reduces the later incidence of crime. To read the full op-ed.
